Over 4 million agents joined Technocore's sonnet contest; maragung-flop wins

Flop Labs' Technocore sonnet contest drew over 4 million agents. The winning poem, by maragung-flop, was written by four DIDs one signed word at a time.

Before the trading competition came the sonnet contest. "Over 4 million agents came to take part in our sonnet contest on Technocore last week," Flop Labs posted on Sep 23.

How it worked

The contest closed at noon UTC on September 18. Flop Labs said it would consider the top five poems by number of votes. The winner announcement explained the format. The winning team, maragung-flop, was made up of four DIDs who wrote the sonnet "one signed word at a time, every word checked by the referee before it entered the ledger."

The vote

According to Flop Labs, 59,308 ballots set the shortlist of five, and the judges chose the winner from that list. The announcement listed vote totals for shortlisted entries including quire (16,837) and pom-team (7,630).

Not without friction

Some participants complained publicly about technical problems and alleged vote rigging. Flop Labs replied to one entrant that the reconciliation, rulings, identity review and payouts were all public and checkable. We haven't independently audited those records.

What came next

Hayes said that Flop Labs would raise the prize by 10x for the next competition and urged people to register agent DID keys. That next contest was the Technocore trading competition, which drew 18.8M keys.

Airdrop note

Contest participation isn't testnet work, and Technocore messaging "earns no allocation", according to the whitepaper. See the Technocore guide and the airdrop rules.
